Find Me
The book I got was Find Me by Romily Bernard. A girl named Wick is an expert hacker and she is given a task by someone to find their sister Tessa who is dead. Wick is trying to find out who this man is and it can be anyone. After reading half the book I can make a prediction about who I might think the killer is. I think it might be the detective Carson. I think it might be him because in the book it showed how he was always around Tessa's house being really nosy. According to the book it says "We've barley reached the steps before I see a low-slung sedan parked on the other side of the street. My chest tightens before my brain even realizes it's Carson. It's too far away to see properly, but I think he nods at me. 'Why's he here?' 'He comes by sometimes.' Tally's hands are pinned behind her back, but she looks ready to run. 'He came by a lot before Tessa... Died. But every time I told my mom, he was gone by the time she came outside." This explains how before Tessa died Carson would always be around her house. Even now after she died he is still looking around her house. He is very strange to Wick and that is why I think he might be the killer.

Gift I Would Like
There are many things that I would like on Christmas. I would like to get a hover board for Christmas but it's too "dangerous" as my mom says. Besides that I would be happy with just some new clothes for Christmas. I'm usually happy with anything I get because I know it's the thought that counts when you receive a gift from someone.

Quote
This quote would mean many things to me. When I see this quote "everyday is a second chance" I think that if one day is bad the next day can be better. When I think of this to me it means if you made a mistake you can always fix it the next day. Today may not be a good day but that wouldn't mean tomorrow won't be better. I like to know that you can start out fresh the next day not having to worry about the other day and just move forward from the past.

Shift
The book I read was "Shift" by Em Bailey. I think that the theme for "Shift" would be don't judge someone before you get to know them. I think this would be the theme because in the story the main character Olive quickly judged the new girl Miranda by what she heard around the school. She noticed many strange things about her and considered her a "shapeshifter" after something she read on a website. Olive thought how Miranda killed her parents because that is what everyone was saying. According to the book it says "I don't know what I thought a possible parent murderer would look like, but it certainly wasn't this thin, pale creature, trailing along behind Mrs. Deans. I leant closer to the window, wanting a clearer view." This explains how Olive thought Miranda really did murder her parents. She heard rumors all over the school that she assumed that Miranda really did kill her parents which was why she didn't have parents. Olive didn't know anything about Miranda until she found out the truth.
There is also another piece of evidence from the book to support my theme. In the book it says "Because if that was true - if she had murdered her parents after all - what else might be? Miranda's expression didn't change. 'I remember the accident,' she said. 'Even though I was only two. We'd just driven past a playground with a slide shaped like an elephant. I was desperate to play on it but my parents wouldn't stop. I screamed and screamed. I felt so angry, strapped in my car seat like that - and I wanted to hurt them. I remember willing the car to stop, willing it with all my might. And then it did stop..... By crashing into a tree.' Miranda's face was grey. 'They both died instantly." This explains how Olive quickly judged Miranda that she murdered her parents when she didn't really do anything. Her parents died in a car accident all along and Olive quickly judged her before she even got to hear the true story. So that is why I think that this is the theme.

Quarter 2 Goals
My goal for quarter 2 is to get all my homework done on time. I will also try to not get any falcon fouls this quarter along with no detentions. I will do this by turning in my homework and checking schoology most often. For quarter 2 I will always be in time to class and turn in work so I don't receive any fouls. I am also trying to get better grades this quarter and I will try to really focus on my work.

The Outsiders Movie
The movie and the book are similar in many ways but they are also different in most parts. One way its different is that when Dally got shot, he didn't hold up the gun at the police. He tried to outrun them and they shot him. I also noticed that Dally went into a store and he held up a gun at the store person and not the police the way it says in the book. The movie is similar to the book though because in both the book and movie Johnny and Ponyboy save the kids from the church. It's also similar because Johnny tells Ponyboy to stay gold before he died. I noticed that the book and movie seemed to be a lot more alike than different in some ways.

Twisted
The theme of twisted is that once you do something people will always judge you from your past. In twisted the main character Tyler vandalized his school by spray painting in the walls and got arrested. Some people ignored him and kept their distance ever since the incident. In the book is says "People had ignored me when I was Nerd Boy, but that changed after I was arrested. A third of my fellow students kept their distance, like I might be wearing a bomb strapped to my wais. Another third looked down their noses at me because I had to work with the (gasp) custodial staff. The third third was all thumbs-up and "Yo, Tyler!" Because spray-painting a couple thousand dollars worth of damage to the school and getting my very own probation officer made me their hero." This shows how people looks at Tyler differently after doing one simple thing. Others looked up to him while others didn't. Throughout the book people still see him differently and treat him differently even accuse him for things since he was arrested.
